June 22nd, 2006 marked a new chapter for the hospital
with the launching of its new wing in conjunction with Petaling Jaya’s
achievement of city status.
This auspicious occasion was graced by HRH Sultan Sharafuddin Idris
Shah who officially launched the new wing.
The newly upgraded facilities include new specialist clinics, 6 new
state-of-the-art operating theaters, and a host of other new medical
and diagnostic equipment, coupled with a brand new 5-storey carpark
with 250 bays.
The entire network of services operates on a computerised network Hospital
Management System that brings online integration of administration,
patient medical records, medical consultation and the pharmacy.
Our top priority is to offer patrons a smooth and efficient environment
to seek medical attention.
The wards at the new wing are located from the 2nd to the 5th floor
with centralized nursing stations.
On some priority wards, two nursing stations offer closer supervision
of patients.
All rooms have individual LCD TVs with both local and Astro channels
online. Individual LCD TVs are also installed in all our 4 bedded rooms
with headphones for individual privacy.
Accommodation available:
1 Presidential suite,
2 executive suites, 6 deluxe, 60 single rooms and 14 double and 4 bedded
rooms. All rooms have been designed with the latest in comfort and convenience
from patient beds to 'stay-over' visitor facilities.
All these new facilities and services establish Assunta Hospital as
a premier healthcare provider to serve the new city’s 417,000 inhabitants.
Other milestones in Assunta Hospital's notable achievements were being
the first private hospital in the country to be awarded ISO9002 Certification
in 1996 and being accredited the Malaysian Society for Quality in Health
in 2004.
The seeds of change have taken root; it will continue to propel Assunta
Hospital forward, hitting new milestones in healthcare excellence as
it confronts its ‘Vision for the 21st Century’.
